This year there will be more dancing than ever before! Dance is a major part of the Greek culture. At Xstrata Greek Fest you will be treated to traditional and modern dance from all regions of Greece, and even a great selection of belly dancing. Be sure to watch out for the fantastic costumes which are exclusive to each region and the meticulous craftsmanship which makes them so unique.

The Hellenic Dancers of Townsville

The Hellenic Dancers have formed an important part of the Greek Community for more than 35 years. Performers range from 6 years to 24 years old and currently there are close to 40 dancers.

Over the weekend three groups will perform dances from many regions of Greece, including Thrace, Macedonia, the Greek Islands and central Greece.

On Saturday night and Sunday lunch there will also be some great modern takes on the traditional dance routines.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to get up and have a go at dancing with the Hellenic Dancers throughout the weekend.



The Hellenic Dancers of Brisbane will be performing several dances from various regions of mainland Greece and the Greek Islands.
